I believe eating is about more than food. Sure, green smoothies are great and olive oil is my jam, but achieving and maintaining wellness is less about that and more about your habits, lifestyle and relationship with food.
Working together, we’ll dive into any and all issues that may impact your health, taking a holistic approach to your wellness. We will examine not just your current dietary pattern, but also your lifestyle, stressors and relationship with food. My background in psychology has given me a unique perspective to understand the many factors that influence food choices and eating behaviors.
My nutrition philosophy is rooted in whole foods. I believe food was put on this earth the way it was meant to be eaten. No icky tasting diet food when you work with me! That said, I don’t believe you need to eat 100% ‘clean’ to be healthy. If you’d like to spend hours each day researching all the thousands of food additives, by all means. Me, I prefer to take a big picture approach and say if you’re eating mostly whole food, the occasional double stuff oreo will not kill you. And after learning to eat it mindfully rather than by the handful while on the couch watching TV, you’ll probably only want one on occasion.
I don’t believe in diets. If there was one diet that worked for everyone, we would have figured it out by now. Each person is made from a unique mixture of biology, genetics and psychology. As your dietitian, we will work together to figure out what a balanced eating pattern looks like for YOU, and determining what food makes YOU feel best.
Just as important as what you eat is how you eat. I integrate techniques from mindful and intuitive that will equip you with the skills needed to honor your hunger, know when to stop eating and how to choose foods that truly nourish your body and soul.

What happens in nutrition coaching?
In our first session, we’ll spend most of the time learning about you, your nutrition concerns, eating/dieting history and so on. This helps me figure out the best individualized plan to reach your goals.
With each session, we’ll create a set of goals/challenges to work on between sessions. At follow up, we’ll check in on those goals, troubleshoot if needed, and add in new goals if ready. This allows for a slower, yet sustainable transition into a healthier way of living.
